My name is Jennifer. I was born in the 1970’s in San Antonio, Texas—home of the Alamo and Spurs. I’m married to Brad, and have two kids: Zachary and Vincent.

We’re a family of geeks. We love Star Wars, Star Trek, DC and Marvel film franchises (and shows), as well as Doctor Who and Sherlock. We have three cats: Bellatrix Lestrange Rarity Johnson (black/charcoal female tabby), Tonks Dammit Bader Johnson (male brown/grey mackerel tabby), and Ginerva Marie Weasley Johnson (orange tabby).

I’ve got a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art (Illustration) and a master’s degree in Technical Communication (with a cognate in User Interface Design and a minor in Sociology, emphasis in minority studies), as well as multiple fitness certifications for yoga and group training. I also study martial arts and hold multiple black belts in several styles. That’s a fancy way of saying that I write for a living and teach yoga and MMA/Escrima on the side.

I also play drums, guitar and ukulele (self-taught on all of those) and have been known to sit in with my friend’s bands from time to time. Sometimes I’ll sing in my church’s choir or in the praise band—if they need me—but most of the time I’m pretty content to run the show from the back.
